The South Burnett Region Timber Industry Museum, located at 80 Haly Street in Wondai, Queensland, celebrates the pivotal role of the timber industry in the region's early settlement and ongoing development. The museum's traditional timber structure is adorned with life-size sculptures of a bullocky and his lead bullocks, an old water-well, and a post-and-rail fence, while a stainless steel silhouette of a timber cutter stands proudly on the eastern end of the building. Inside, visitors can explore a wagon camp diorama featuring a restored bullock wagon, set against authentic wooden slabs and shingles, alongside displays of South Burnett timbers, artifacts, and historical photographs. The well-stocked gift shop offers locally produced woodcraft, and the adjacent Woodcrafters’ Workshop provides live demonstrations by local woodworkers. The museum is open Monday to Saturday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, with free entry and ample parking for buses and caravans.
