Wolfang, QLD

Wolfang Peak, standing at 572 meters, is a prominent volcanic formation in Queensland's Peak Range National Park. Its distinctive fang-like shape, composed of grey and purple rhyolite, is visible from Clermont, 36 kilometers southwest. The hike to the summit involves navigating steep, rocky terrain and exploring caves, some inhabited by bats. At the top, hikers are rewarded with panoramic views of the Central Highlands and surrounding grazing lands. Access is via the Peak Downs Highway, with the trailhead marked by worn footpaths leading to the base of the peak.
