Located at 35 High Street in Wirrabara, South Australia, the Wirrabara Memorial Library is a cherished community hub that honors local history and serves as a resource for residents and visitors alike. Established in 1912, the library occupies a dedicated room within the historic Institute building, which was constructed from stone quarried from Marner’s quarry in the Wirrabara Forest. In 1961, the Wirrabara Memorial Committee funded the addition of a separate room featuring memorial windows to commemorate those who served their country. The library is owned by the Institute and operated by volunteers, offering a selection of books and newspapers for the community. A small subscription fee helps support its operations. Operating hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with closures on weekends.
