Winton Wetlands, located near Benalla in northeast Victoria, is the largest wetlands restoration project in the southern hemisphere. Spanning 8,750 hectares, it features 32 distinct wetland zones and over 4,900 hectares of red gum and box grassy woodlands. The area is home to more than 180 bird species and offers activities such as walking, cycling, canoeing, and bird watching. The Mokoan Hub & Café provides refreshments and meals, with all proceeds supporting ongoing restoration efforts. The site also showcases Indigenous cultural heritage and outdoor art installations.
