Windang Island Wheels, located at Warilla Beach and Windang Island, showcases remnants of a late 19th-century coal export project. In the 1890s, the Illawarra Harbour and Land Corporation initiated plans to dredge Lake Illawarra and construct a harbor for coal and lead shipments. Although the project was abandoned due to heavy seas destroying the breakwater, traces of this endeavor remain. Visitors can observe rusted rail tracks and trolley wheels along the beach and island, relics from the construction of the breakwater.
