Located near Taralga in New South Wales' Southern Tablelands, the Taralga Wind Farm comprises 51 turbines with a combined capacity of 106.8 MW. Since its commissioning in 2015, it generates enough clean electricity to power approximately 38,000 homes annually, offsetting about 240,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions each year. The wind farm is situated on ridges east of Taralga, with the closest turbine more than 3 km from the village. Electricity produced is fed into the national power grid through a 38 km transmission line to the Marulan Substation.
