Wilsons Headland picnic area

Nestled within Yuraygir National Park, Wilsons Headland picnic area offers a serene coastal retreat near Diggers Camp village. Visitors can enjoy picnicking on grassy areas or at picnic tables, and explore the Wilsons Headland walking track, which provides additional picnic spots and lookouts with sweeping coastal views ideal for whale watching. The area is also suitable for swimming, fishing, and birdwatching, with opportunities to catch local whiting, bream, or flathead, and observe beach raptors like brahminy kites and white-bellied sea eagles. Accessible by 2WD vehicles via unsealed roads, the picnic area features non-flush toilets, picnic tables, and wood barbecues (firewood not provided). Please note, pets are not permitted, and visitors are encouraged to bring their own drinking and cooking water. A park entry fee of $8 per vehicle per day applies.
