Willochra, SA

Willochra, a former township in South Australia's Flinders Ranges, was surveyed in 1860 but never fully developed and was abandoned during the 1860s drought. The area is now known for its historical significance and natural beauty. The Willochra Creek, which bisects the Willochra Plain, is an ephemeral watercourse that flows from Mount Remarkable to Lake Torrens. The creek's overflow across the plain within the locality of Willochra is known as the 'Overflow of Willochra Creek'. Today, the site offers a glimpse into the region's past and serves as a point of interest for visitors exploring the Flinders Ranges.
