The West Coast Heritage Centre in Zeehan offers a comprehensive exploration of Tasmania's rich mining history. Housed in four historic buildings, including the Zeehan School of Mines and Metallurgy, the centre features over 30 themed exhibition spaces. Visitors can delve into mining relics, experience an underground mine simulation in the Crocoite Cavern, and admire a world-class mineral collection. The Gaiety Theatre, built in 1898, showcases Edwardian films, while the Masonic Lodge display provides insights into the secretive society of Freemasons. Open daily from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm, the centre is closed on Christmas and Boxing Days.
