Nestled beside the Maranoa River in Carnarvon National Park's Mount Moffatt section, West Branch Camping Area offers a serene retreat accessible via high-clearance 4WD vehicles. The campground features a hybrid toilet, communal fire rings (BYO clean-milled firewood), and limited water suitable for drinking and cooking. Open fires are permitted in fire rings only, except when fire bans or prohibitions apply. The area is ideal for tent camping, off-road caravans, and high-clearance camper trailers. Mobile phone coverage is not available. Camping permits are required, and fees apply.
