Weranga is a rural locality in Queensland's Western Downs Region, covering approximately 221.7 square kilometers. As of the 2021 census, it has a population of 208 residents. The area is traversed by the Glenmorgan railway line, with Weranga railway station situated on Weranga North Road. The locality's name is believed to be an Aboriginal word meaning a large gathering of Aboriginal Australians. While Weranga Provisional School opened in 1923, it closed in 1924. The nearest government primary schools are Kogan State School in Kogan to the north and Tara Shire State College in Tara to the west.
