Wellington Range

The Wellington Range, located in southeastern Tasmania, is a prominent mountain range renowned for its rugged terrain and diverse recreational opportunities. The range includes notable peaks such as Kunanyi / Mount Wellington, Collins Cap, and Cathedral Rock, each offering unique hiking experiences and panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and wilderness areas. The area is also home to a variety of flora and fauna, including over 500 unique plant species and important birdlife like the endangered swift parrot and forty-spotted pardalote. Visitors can enjoy activities like bushwalking, mountain biking, and four-wheel driving, with tracks like Jefferys Track and the East West Trail providing access through the park. The Wellington Range is part of the Wellington Park Reserve, which serves as a vital source of drinking water for Hobart and is managed by the Wellington Park Management Trust.
