Wellington East is a tranquil locality in South Australia's Murray Mallee region, situated on the east bank of the Murray River where it meets Lake Alexandrina. Approximately 98 kilometers southeast of Adelaide and 10 kilometers southwest of Tailem Bend, it serves as the eastern terminus of the Wellington Ferry, the furthest downstream crossing of the Murray River on Route B45. The area is predominantly low-lying, featuring a mix of shacks and holiday homes that offer direct access to the river and lagoons. The eastern boundary is marked by the Princes Highway between Tailem Bend and Meningie.
