Located along the Barwon Highway between Goondiwindi and St George, the Weengallon Aboriginal Rock Wells, known as 'Ngaru-gi Gali' ('to drink'), are a significant cultural site featuring six deep water holes, some up to three meters deep. These wells served as vital water sources for Indigenous Australians, including the Kalkadoon people, during their journeys from Mount Isa to the Bunya Mountains. Road signs at the site provide insights into its history and spiritual significance. Visitors are encouraged to approach with respect, as this area holds deep cultural importance.
