Located 3 kilometers southwest of Edithburgh on South Australia's Yorke Peninsula, Wattle Point Wind Farm has been generating renewable energy since 2005. The 55 turbines, each with a rotor diameter of 82 meters, collectively produce 91 megawatts, enough to power approximately 50,000 average Australian homes. The turbines begin generating electricity in winds as low as 9 kilometers per hour and reach full production at wind speeds of around 47 kilometers per hour. A free viewing area on Sheoak Beach Road offers visitors a unique insight into this sustainable energy source.
