Nestled on Tasmania's north-east coast, the Waterhouse Conservation Area offers a diverse natural landscape, featuring deep-water lagoons like Blackmans Lagoon and Big Waterhouse Lake, and extensive dune systems formed during the Ice Age. This area is a haven for campers, anglers, and wildlife enthusiasts, providing basic camping facilities where visitors can enjoy activities such as fishing, four-wheel driving, and beach-based recreation. The reserve is also home to nine threatened bird species, several threatened mammals, and the rare freshwater dwarf galaxias fish. Access is via Waterhouse Road, with minor roads leading to various parts of the reserve.
