Warriewood Wetlands, spanning 26 hectares, is the largest remaining sand plain wetland in northern Sydney. This freshwater ecosystem offers diverse habitats for native wildlife and plays a crucial role in flood mitigation and sediment filtration. A 2.4-kilometer self-guided boardwalk meanders through the area, providing excellent birdwatching opportunities, especially during autumn when the swamp mahogany trees bloom. Over 80 bird species, including the endangered Regent Honeyeater, Goshawk, and Powerful Owl, have been recorded here. Dogs and bicycles are prohibited on the boardwalk to preserve the sensitive environment.
