Established in 2019 through the SA Health's Healthy Towns Program, the Wakefield Community Garden in Balaklava offers a welcoming space for gardening enthusiasts to connect, learn, and cultivate fresh produce. Located in Apex Park, the garden features communal plots, individual allotments, and facilities for composting and worm farming. Open daily, it hosts an Open Day and Plant & Produce Sale or Swap on the first Saturday of each month from 10 am to 12 pm. Adjacent to the Balaklava Caravan Park and Men's Shed, the garden fosters inclusivity and combats social isolation.
