Vale of Belvoir Camp Ground

Nestled near Cradle Mountain, the Vale of Belvoir Camp Ground offers a secluded, free camping experience. Accessible only by 4WD vehicles due to its rugged terrain, the site features a simple circle marked by large boulders. Surrounded by heath-like vegetation and button grass, the area is home to abundant wildlife, including wallabies, pademelons, and wombats. Adjacent to the campsite is Lake Lea, accessible via a wildlife-rich road ideal for mountain biking and walking. A boardwalk provides information about the area, and platypus sightings are occasional. Camping is free, and no bookings are required. The nearby Cradle Mountain region is renowned for its exceptional bushwalking and hiking tracks, including the Overland Track.
