Urrbrae, SA

Urrbrae House, a two-storey bluestone mansion completed in 1891, is located on Walter Young Avenue within the University of Adelaide's Waite Campus. Built by philanthropist Peter Waite, it was the first home in Adelaide to be electrified. After the Waite family's passing, the house was bequeathed to the university in 1923. Today, it forms part of the Urrbrae House Historic Precinct, which includes the Coach House and Stables, Waite Arboretum, and the Waite Campus. The precinct offers a glimpse into Adelaide's history and is a testament to the city's architectural heritage.
