Urandangi is a historic outback town in Queensland's Channel Country, established in 1885. Once a bustling hub for drovers along the Georgina River, it featured a hotel, stores, post office, and a dance hall by the 1920s. The town's name is believed to derive from Aboriginal words meaning "much gidyea." In March 2023, Urandangi was severely impacted by flooding, leading to the evacuation of its residents and raising questions about its future.
