Venue

Upalinna, SA

Upalinna Station, a family-owned working sheep station, offers a unique outback experience on the eastern side of Ikara Wilpena Pound in South Australia's Flinders Ranges. The name "Upalinna," meaning "Little Water" in the Adnyamathanha language, reflects the property's numerous springs and the meandering Wilpena Creek. Guests can explore native pine forests, gum-lined creeks, and observe local wildlife such as kangaroos, emus, echidnas, galahs, parrots, and reptiles. The station provides eight secluded, unpowered bush campsites with fire rings, offering stunning views of Wilpena Pound and Saint Mary's Peak. Amenities include a shared pit toilet; however, there are no power connections available at the sites. The Shearers Quarters, renovated in 2019, offer stylish, self-contained accommodation suitable for groups of 2 to 14 people. Guests can enjoy amenities like a wood-fired pizza oven and campfires by the red gum-lined creek. Upalinna Station is approximately 56 km northeast of Hawker and 6 km from the Wilpena Pound Resort turnoff on Flinders Ranges Way, making it an ideal base for exploring the central Flinders Ranges.
