Nestled within the University of Southern Queensland's Toowoomba campus, the Japanese Garden, known as Ju Raku En, spans over three hectares and features a central lake adorned with traditional red Japanese bridges leading to three distinct islands. Established in 1989, it is one of Australia's largest and most traditionally designed Japanese stroll gardens, showcasing 230 species of Japanese and Australian native trees and plants. The garden offers a serene environment with a mountain stream, waterfalls, cherry blossom trees, bamboo avenues, a wisteria arbour, a dry garden, and an azalea hill. Open daily from 6 am to dusk, it serves as a tranquil retreat and a popular venue for weddings and other significant events.
