Ulooloo Creek

Ulooloo Creek, located near Hallett in South Australia's Mid North region, is a historically significant watercourse. Discovered by Surveyor General Captain Frome in 1843, it was integral to the establishment of the Ulooloo pastoral estate. The creek's presence attracted early European settlers, notably John Chewings, who established a homestead along its banks in the mid-19th century. The area also experienced a brief gold rush between 1869 and 1872, contributing to its rich history. Today, Ulooloo Creek remains a notable feature in the Hallett region, reflecting the area's pastoral heritage.
