Tyenna River

The Tyenna River, flowing through Tasmania's Derwent Valley, is renowned for its exceptional trout fishing opportunities. This large, fast-moving stream offers anglers a chance to catch both brown and rainbow trout using various methods, including fly fishing, bait, and lures. The river's bed is characterized by large, slippery boulders, so wading requires caution. Approximately 1.5 km of the river runs through Mount Field National Park, where fishing is restricted to artificial lures and fly fishing to protect the unique flora and fauna.
