The Carrathool Historic Bridge, completed in 1924, is an Allan-type timber truss bridge with a rare bascule-type lift span, designed to allow river craft to pass. Spanning the Murrumbidgee River, it features two timber truss spans, each 21.8 meters long, and three timber approach spans at each end, totaling 115.5 meters in length. The lift span is supported on cylindrical iron piers, and the bridge has a minimum carriageway width of 4.3 meters. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 20 June 2000.
