The Tarong Power Station, located at 1225 Nanango Tarong Road in Tarong, Queensland, is a coal-fired power facility with a maximum generating capacity of 1,400 megawatts. Situated on a 1,500-hectare site, it comprises four turbines and sources coal from the adjacent Meandu Mine, approximately 1.5 kilometers away. Water for the station is supplied from Boondooma Dam. The power station is owned by Stanwell Corporation and has been operational since the mid-1980s.
