
Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve, established in 1892 as Victoria's first national park, is a 614-hectare protected area located approximately 275 km west of Melbourne and 15 km north-west of Warrnambool. This reserve encompasses the dormant Tower Hill volcano and its surrounding wetlands, offering a unique landscape rich in geological and cultural significance. Visitors can explore a variety of walking trails, picnic areas, and public facilities within the reserve. The area is home to diverse wildlife, including koalas, kangaroos, emus, and numerous bird species. The Worn Gundidj Aboriginal Cooperative manages the reserve in partnership with Parks Victoria, providing guided bushwalking tours and information on the area's geology, flora, fauna, and cultural heritage.
