Established in 1985, the Torres Strait Islanders Media Association (TSIMA) operates Radio 4MW, a 24-hour service broadcasting on 1260AM across the Torres Strait, Northern Peninsula Area, and parts of Papua New Guinea. TSIMA also manages seven of the fourteen RIBS licenses in the region, enabling live streaming and radio broadcasts from outer islands. The organization is governed by a dedicated board, including President Ivy Trevallion, Secretary Norah Mosby, and Treasurer Yuriko Nakachi. TSIMA's mission is to connect the voices and culture of the Torres Strait through media.
