Thylungra Station, located approximately 101 km northwest of Quilpie and 108 km southeast of Windorah, is a pastoral lease operating as a sheep station in Queensland's Channel Country. The property encompasses 2,820 km² and is stocked with 45,000 sheep and nearly 2,000 head of cattle. The landscape features open downs flood-out country with black soils, interspersed with mulga and stony range areas. Timbered regions include stands of gidyea, mulga, coolibah, yarpunyah, bloodwood, and supplejack. The area is rich in native grasses and shrubs, supporting diverse wildlife. Thylungra Station is owned by George Scott, who acquired it in 2008. The traditional owners of the land are the Punthamara people, also known as Buntamurra. The name 'Thylungra' is derived from the Buntamurra phrase 'thillung gurra,' meaning 'permanent water,' referring to a waterhole in the area believed to be permanent.
