Port Arthur Historic Site, located on Tasmania's Tasman Peninsula, is Australia's largest and most intact convict settlement, encompassing over 30 historic buildings and ruins within 146 hectares of heritage gardens and walking trails. Visitors can explore iconic sites like the Penitentiary, Commandant's House, and the Convict Church, and enjoy a 20-minute harbour cruise. The site offers a self-guided audio experience and complimentary guide talks at key locations throughout the day. Dining options include the Port Arthur Café and the 1830 Restaurant & Bar, which offers sweeping views of the Penitentiary and gardens. The site is open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, except Christmas Day.
