
The Great Cobar Museum, housed in the former administration building of the Great Cobar Copper Mine, showcases Cobar's rich history through diverse exhibits. Visitors can explore displays on mining, pastoralism, and the Ngiyampaa people's culture. The museum's restoration in 2021 earned the Judges' Choice award at the 2022 NSW National Trust Heritage Awards. Adjacent to the museum, the Visitor Information Centre offers resources to enhance your experience in Cobar and the surrounding region. The museum is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and weekends/public holidays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for concessions and groups, and $20 for families.
