The Gap

The Cape Raoul Track is a 14-kilometer return hike within Tasmania's Tasman National Park, offering breathtaking coastal views and unique geological formations. The trail begins at the end of Stormlea Road, approximately a 90-minute drive from Hobart. The well-maintained path traverses open forest, heath, and light forest, with some steep sections. Along the way, hikers are treated to panoramic vistas of towering dolerite cliffs and the Tasman Sea. The track is rated Grade 4, suitable for experienced bushwalkers, and typically takes around 5 hours to complete. Along the way, hikers may encounter seals basking on the rocks and small islands below the cliffs.
