The Devil's Garden, located along Balaklava Road between Balaklava and Halbury in South Australia's Mid North, is a historic reserve known for its picturesque river box gum trees. In the 19th century, bullock teams transporting copper ore faced treacherous bogs and sandhills in this area. During these challenging times, an unknown male spectre appeared, guiding and protecting the teams, preventing accidents and guiding them safely through the difficult terrain. This spectral protector led the bullock teams to name the area "The Devil's Garden."
