The Barn (Roy Grounds)

The Barn, also known as Penders, is a heritage-listed holiday retreat located within Mimosa Rocks National Park in Tanja, New South Wales. Designed by renowned architect Sir Roy Grounds and built between 1964 and 1980, it showcases his innovative use of natural materials and geometric forms. The retreat comprises several unique structures, including The Barn, the Myer House, and a geodesic dome, all harmoniously integrated into the coastal landscape. These buildings reflect Grounds's philosophy of blending architecture with the natural environment, offering a distinctive and tranquil retreat experience.
