It was a central meeting place for the community, with George Woolnough, the saddler, engaging in conversations with visitors. Notably, poet Banjo Paterson frequented the establishment. The building has also functioned as a bank and private residence. Classified by the National Trust, it retains original features like tobacco-stained ceilings and leather-patched wooden floors, offering a glimpse into 19th-century craftsmanship.
