
Tempe House, located at 1 Princes Highway in Wolli Creek, is a heritage-listed estate renowned for its exceptional historical significance. Designed by architect John Verge, the villa was constructed between 1833 and 1836, exemplifying Neo-Classical Georgian architecture. The estate's grounds, including the distinctive Mount Olympus, showcase early nineteenth-century design principles. Over the years, Tempe House has been associated with notable figures such as Alexander Brodie Spark, Caroline Chisholm, and the Sisters of the Good Samaritan Order. The estate was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.
