
Telita is a rural locality in Tasmania's North-east region, approximately 33 kilometers east of Scottsdale. As of the 2016 census, it has a population of 22 residents. The area is characterized by its proximity to the Ringarooma River, which forms most of its southern boundary. Access to Telita is facilitated by Route A3 (Tasman Highway) to the south-east, with Derby Back Road and Telita Road providing direct routes into the locality. The name "Telita" is believed to be an Aboriginal word meaning "to chirrup."
