Taralee Orchards

Nestled in the serene Wirrabara Forest of the Southern Flinders Ranges, Taralee Orchards is a Demeter-certified biodynamic stone fruit orchard. The orchard cultivates a variety of stone fruits, including apricots, peaches, nectarines, and plums, as well as quinces, apples, pears, and figs. In addition to fresh fruits, they produce sulphur-free dried fruits and jams. The property also features a vegetable garden, beehives, free-range poultry, and a small beef cattle herd. Visitors can purchase produce directly from the farmgate or at local markets. Accommodation is available in two self-contained cottages, each offering two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a cozy lounge with a slow combustion wood fireplace. The cottages overlook the orchard and forest, providing a peaceful retreat. The farmgate is generally open seven days a week; however, it's advisable to call ahead to confirm.
