The hall was officially opened on 17 November 1921, with a commemorative stone laid by Mrs. A. Osmotherly and Mrs. J. Grant. A subsequent plaque was added on 30 October 1955 by A. Murray McKay J.P., honoring those who served in the Great Wars. The hall's design reflects the town's mid-20th-century architectural style, contributing to Tallangatta's recognition as a "Notable Town" by the National Trust in 2016. The Memorial Hall continues to serve as a focal point for community events and gatherings, embodying the town's rich history and enduring spirit.
