Tablelands Regional Council - Community Revegetation Nursery

Nestled in Winfield Park near Malanda, the Community Revegetation Nursery specializes in cultivating native rainforest species for environmental restoration projects across the southern Atherton Tablelands. Established in 1989, it has produced nearly 900,000 plants, contributing to the revegetation of approximately 280 hectares. The nursery operates on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 am to 4 pm, welcoming volunteers year-round. Visitors can purchase plants for various purposes, including habitat restoration for endangered species like the Southern Cassowary and Lumholtz’s Tree-Kangaroo. The nursery also hosts open days featuring activities such as quizzes, games, and plant identification.
