Nestled at the northern end of Bar Beach in Newcastle, Susan Gilmore Beach offers a serene escape with its 100-meter stretch of sand. Accessed via a cliff-top car park or by rounding the cliff face at low tide, the beach provides a secluded spot for sunbathing, swimming, and picnicking. Dog-friendly and rarely crowded, it's an ideal location for relaxation. The beach is named after the American clipper ship Susan Gilmore, which was shipwrecked here in 1884. Visitors can also enjoy the nearby Memorial Walk, offering picturesque views across the beach.
