The Strangers’ Function Room, located within the historic New South Wales Parliament House, offers a versatile dining space with panoramic views of the Domain Gardens. This elegant venue is ideal for conferences, seminars, luncheons, award dinners, and cocktail receptions. The room accommodates up to 300 guests for seated events and up to 600 for cocktail functions. Adjacent to the Strangers’ Foyer, the Fountain Court area can be booked for pre-dinner receptions, hosting up to 200 people. Notably, the Strangers’ Room has hosted dignitaries such as King Charles III, Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Diana, Prince Edward, the Dalai Lama, and Audrey Hepburn. The venue supports local farmers and offers a range of catering options, including canapés, food stations, and plated meals. Business hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5:30 pm, with hourly rates of $400 during these times and $700 after hours. A 15% surcharge applies on Saturdays, and a 20% surcharge on Sundays.
