
Nestled within Byfield National Park, the Upper Stony Creek camping area offers a serene retreat among pine trees and natural bushland. Accessible via a gravel road approximately 11 km from Byfield Road, this campground features 14 numbered sites suitable for tent camping beside your car, with some accommodating caravans or motorhomes up to 4 meters. Amenities include non-flush toilets, individual fire rings (bring your own clean, milled timber), and picnic tables in the day-use area. Visitors can enjoy swimming in the freshwater creek, walking along the 900-meter Venusta Circuit, and canoeing or kayaking. Please note, open fires are permitted only in designated fire rings, and generators may be used between 8 am and 7 pm, provided they have a sound rating of 65 decibels (2.0 kVA) or less. Camping permits are required and can be booked online through the Queensland National Parks Booking Service.
