Venue

Wentworth, NSW

Completed in 1929, Lock 10 and Weir on the Murray River regulate water flow and maintain high levels for irrigation. As one of 13 locks along the river, it enables boats to pass between upstream and downstream levels. The area features picnic tables, a barbecue area, and public toilets for visitors' convenience. Special 'fishways' allow native fish species to migrate upstream, supporting the long-term recovery of the River Murray ecology. The lock and weir are located at Cadell Street, Wentworth NSW 2648.
