St Mary Bay is a picturesque, open, west-facing bay approximately 2 km long, bordered by the 30-meter-high Point Brown and Point Dillon. The bay features two distinct beaches: a main 2.2 km long beach backed by active dunes, and a smaller 350-meter northern beach fringed with reefs. The surrounding points and reefs reduce wave heights to about 1 meter, creating calm waters ideal for swimming and fishing. The main beach forms a narrow attached bar, occasionally cut by rips during higher waves, particularly toward the northern end. The northern beach is fringed and fronted by reefs.
