
South Hummocks is a rural locality in South Australia's Mid North region, situated at the head of Gulf St Vincent adjacent to Yorke Peninsula on the southeastern slopes of the Hummock Range. The area encompasses approximately 97.8 square kilometers and had a population of 21 residents as of 2016. Historically, South Hummocks featured a government school (1882–1945), a church, and served as a stop on the Balaklava-Moonta railway line from 1878 until 1984. Today, it remains a tranquil and picturesque destination, offering a glimpse into South Australia's rural heritage.
