South Hummocks Railway Station, established in 1878, was a pivotal stop on the Port Wakefield to Kadina line in South Australia. Despite its location within a vast salt marsh, the station facilitated significant wheat exports and connected to road coach services in 1901. The station featured a single-track main line, a 500-foot loop platform, and a 200-foot siding. Notably, in 1948, a 5,000-bag wheat stack caught fire, with only 1,000 bags destroyed. The line ceased operations in April 1984, and the station remains a testament to the region's rich railway heritage.
