Located in Nanango, the South Burnett Energy Centre showcases the region's rich history in energy production. Housed in a building formerly owned by Tarong Coal, the centre features interactive displays and timelines that trace the evolution of power generation in the area. Visitors can engage with original engines that first supplied electricity to Nanango in 1933. Interactive exhibits, such as generating energy through pedaling a bike, offer hands-on learning experiences. The centre also houses the Sports Wall of Fame, celebrating local athletic achievements. Open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm, and weekends from 9 am to 1 pm, entry is free.
