The South Australian Country Fire Service (CFS) is a volunteer-based organization dedicated to protecting communities across outer metropolitan, regional, and rural South Australia. With approximately 13,500 volunteers, including cadets, CFS operates 425 brigades and a fleet of over 850 fire trucks. Responding to around 8,000 incidents annually, their services encompass bushfires, structure and motor vehicle fires, road crash rescues, and hazardous material spills. Collaborating with the SA Metropolitan Fire Service, State Emergency Service, and local governments, CFS also focuses on fuel reduction strategies and community education to enhance bushfire and fire safety.
